The SMART mapping system was used to help the Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo identify the best location for a new club in the Kenfield/Langfield Buffalo Municipal Housing authority complex, based on variables such as income in the area, amount of families that receive public assistance in the area, and percentage of female-headed families with children. In addition to placing the club in the most advantageous location, SMART was also utilized to develop the data on the area necessary to receive funding for its youth-oriented programming.
